The San Ramon Chapel Preservation Committee was established in 1972. The committee was incorporated in 1975, and is currently operating as a non-profit corporation. Responsibilities of the committee include maintaining the chapel and cemetary grounds, raising funds to cover operating costs and preserving the historical integrity of Santa Barbara County's first historical site.
